Spearfishing and freediving · Apple Watch Ultra
Wait still.
Hunt smart.
Aspetto shows you the seabed before you get wet, keeps an eye on you from your wrist while you dive, and remembers what you found.
iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra. Seabed surveys from Dodman Point to Whitsand Bay, more coming.
How it works
Plan it. Dive it. Remember it.
Plan where to go
Shaded 1–2 m seabed surveys show reef edges, gullies and sand. Pick what you're after and Aspetto suggests ground that suits it, with the tide added to the charted depth.
Dive with the watch watching you
The watch logs each dive, points you to your spots, shows the seabed offline and asks "You OK?" after every dive. It all works with the crown and Action button, so Water Lock is no problem.
Remember what you found
Mark a spot with one press. Your dives, spots and the vis you logged sync to your iPhone and the web app, so next time you go straight back.
Seabed maps
See the reef before you get wet
Most maps show the inshore seabed as a smooth blue blur. Aspetto shades the UK Hydrographic Office's 1–2 m surveys, so you can see where the reef drops to sand, where the gullies run and where it's flat.

Maps
Seabed relief
1–2 m surveys from Dodman Point to Whitsand Bay, contours every metre and, round Looe and Fowey, what the bottom is made of.

Spots and targets
Choose lobster, bass, scallop or 10 more. Aspetto suggests ground to try, sizes a search area, and quotes the Cornwall IFCA rules.
Spots and targets →Conditions
Tide, vis and sewage
Depth now with the tide, current and springs or neaps, a visibility estimate with its confidence, and warnings when a storm overflow nearby has discharged.

The watch and safety
Dive log, navigation back to your spots, the seabed under you, and a check-in after every dive, with an SOS if you don't answer.
Watch and safety →Honest about the limits
A tool for your planning. Not your buddy.
Aspetto is a backup, not a buddy. Spearfishers and freedivers check things, so here's what it can't do.
- It isn't a dive computer. The watch reads depth to 6 m, and it doesn't do decompression.
- The charts aren't for navigation. Surveys can be old or wrong, especially close inshore.
- The SOS can't reach anyone while you're underwater, and help can't get to you within the minute or two a blackout allows. Dive with a buddy: one up, one down.

Beta
Help us test it in the water
We're opening a TestFlight beta for iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra. It's best for people who dive in Cornwall and Devon, where the detailed surveys are, but anyone can join.
